16:11:23 [JoJo-AoE] Hello and welcome to my seminar called "Are Christians Intolerant?". I am JoJo Tabares from Art of Eloquence.com. Before I continue, I want to share with you a little about me so you know where I am coming from.
16:11:41 [JoJo-AoE] I have a degree in Speech Communication and over 20 years of experience in the field. I have authored several children's books on communication skills and written many articles for publication and I teach these skills with humor and from a Christian perspective
16:12:02 [JoJo-AoE] I was raised by two Atheists of Jewish heritage, though I was never an Atheist myself. As a child I questioned everyone about their different faiths and why they believed what they did.
16:12:24 [JoJo-AoE] I married a non-practicing Catholic and accepted Christ Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, in part, due to some Amway meetings and a sweet woman- a Jehovah's Witness -who came to study with me for two years in my home.

16:13:12 [JoJo-AoE] Moving on to today's topic...Are Christians Intolerant? I think we need to study this because it is an agenda that the liberal media, many college professors as well as other strong organizations are advancing world wide.

16:13:44 [JoJo-AoE] The world is beginning to adopt and adapt to this idea and it will only get worse in our children's lifetime. For this reason, we need to make sure that our children are grounded in their faith, can think critically

16:14:04 [JoJo-AoE] about it and have the communication skills to effectively articulate their beliefs to others. This is the reason behind my writing my latest book Say What You Mean: Defending the Faith.

16:14:37 [JoJo-AoE] The definition of intolerance has changed over my lifetime. Many of the "progressive thinkers" of the day will tell you that we need to be tolerant of other religions, but at the same time they do not extend that tolerance to Christians.
16:15:00 [JoJo-AoE] Public schools do not "tolerate" prayer or teaching from a Biblical perspective. Many college professors do not "tolerate" an assignment from a student done from a Christian perspective.
16:15:22 [JoJo-AoE] The governement no longer "tolerates" the 10 Commandments or Christmas celebrations. Some stores do not "tolerate" their employees uttering "Merry Christmas" to their customers. Many corporations do not "tolerate" notes about Bible studies though they do happily provide
16:15:44 [JoJo-AoE] information for "Gay Pride Parades" or "BYOB Parties" (Bring Your Own Beer). And so it goes.

16:16:09 [JoJo-AoE] A March 2005 study of the Forum, an online political science journal, found that "by their own description 72% of those teaching at American Universities and colleges are Liberal."
16:16:27 [JoJo-AoE] "The disparity is even more pronounced at the most elite schools where, according to the study, 87% of faculty are liberal"
16:16:43 [JoJo-AoE] "The professors and instructors surveyed are strongly or somewhat in favor of abortion rights (84%) and believe that 'homosexuality is acceptable' (67%)"
16:16:58 [JoJo-AoE] According to research by Dr. Gary Railsback and the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA, in 2001, there is a 17% to 59% chance that a Christian going into college or university would say that they are no longer 'born again' after four years! Depending upon the type of school attended.

16:17:31 [JoJo-AoE] The Stanford University professor who refers to jihadist suicide bombers as "martyrs" and denounces America on Al-Jezeera TV
16:17:45 [JoJo-AoE] The criminology professor at the University of Colorado who gives final exams that require students to "make the case for gay marraige" and to explain why the US liberation of Iraq is "criminal".

16:19:49 [JoJo-AoE] 2. Those with this agenda have employed a communication tactic that has until now taken hold. It is unraveling a little bit but until now it had worked quite well. You see, if you yell something loud enough, long enough and you get enough people to yell along with you, you can make any lies

16:20:32 [JoJo-AoE] They did it with Evolution as Dr. Wile talked to us about earlier and they do it with the concept of Christians and Tolerance. Christians have been synonymous with intolerance for quite some time now according the left and the mainstream media.
16:20:58 [JoJo-AoE] We are the reason that others are oppressed and have not been able to express their unique lifestyles. We are a threat to progressive thinking and we are the reason there is anger in the world.

16:21:34 [JoJo-AoE] 3. Some who call themselves Christians have contributed to this by the way they communicate. The woman does it who knocks on the door and hits unsuspecting souls over the head with the Bible.

16:22:38 [JoJo-AoE] The teen does it when he posts a response to a blog that promotes a heavy metal band that condemns Christians and says "Burn in Hell!" instead of calmly discussing what he feels.
16:23:03 [JoJo-AoE] 4. The Rosie O'Donnels of the world all look for people who claim to be a Christian and communicate out of anger or disrespect so they can lift them up as examples of Christian Intolerance. These are primarily the only "Christians" that get air time!

16:23:34 [Carla] Just like that TV show last year, The Book of Daniel. Every dysfunction was prominently displayed and the producers claimed it as a "typical" Christian family.

16:24:50 [JoJo-AoE] When a person feels attacked for who they are, it elicits a response that I call ..."Screaming in a Deaf Man's Ear". If you scream in a deaf man's ear, he will not understand what you are saying, but he sure knows one thing:

16:25:30 [JoJo-AoE] When someone attacks a person's beliefs they instantaneously erect a wall that separates themselves from the offending input. This wall secures them from further attacks. This wall is more or less permanent.

16:51:38 [Carla] It took her a LONG TIME to come back to God. And this isn't recently. She's almost 60. Think of how much worse it is today.
